The "North Carolina" Sushi Roll
Even if you don't like sushi you'd love it!  The North Carolina is "Tuna, salmon, super white tuna and red snapper, wrapped in rice paper, set in ponzu sauce and served with sweet wasabi mayonnaise." The rice paper makes it easy to eat (good news for me) and it has some really nice cooling cucumber in it somewhere too.  Yoo Mae is a charming sushi restaurant in downtown Colorado Springs.  We also ordered the Utah and the New Mexico, which disappointed us a little bit (The New Mexico had large, raw, seeded pieces of jalapeƱo in it - spicy!!!).  We would have ordered the Texas of course, but it was made with beef instead of fish, so we passed on it.  But really, how cool is it to have a different sushi roll for each state?!  It was reasonably priced - about $12 a roll - and it was downtown which is full of other fun things after you leave a late dinner.  We will be returning!... whenever we make it back to Colorado.

Lime-A-Way
It feels that I should have posted about this a long time ago, because I use it a ton, but I use it even more now that I've been in 24-hour cleaning mode.  In this neck of the desert, we have very hard water full that leaves a lovely layer of limescale on everything it touches.  No faucet, sink, or shower head is immune.  (Dishes aren't either, but I already posted about that!) I used to use vinegar to remove the limescale, but it would take a long time, and on faucets I'd have to soak rags in vinegar and wrap them around it... and then they would dry out... and then I'd do it again all day long.  Lime-A-Way works much, MUCH quicker - I can just spray it on, and by the time it drips off, the rock-hard white grainy film has disappeared.  What I don't love?  This stuff is fumey, and I have to turn my head to breathe if I'm somewhere enclosed (like a shower).  I'm not sure if El Paso has as hard water, but I'm prepared for it this time!

Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Caramel Latte Wallflowers
Normally I go for B&BW Vanilla Cupcake Wallflowers, but these smell so good that I'm never going back. The scent of this wallflower actually fills my room and makes it smell so. good! without overwhelming my sensitive nose. I stocked up on these guys so I can enjoy this "fall" scent year-round. Stupid seasonal scents...

Food Network's Sunday Morning Pancakes Candle
Even though I loved B&BW's fall wallflower, I thought their candle version of Pumpkin Caramel Latte wasn't so great. It's been my favorite candle scent for the past two years, but they changed the formula for the worse this year. Alas--my favorite smell is a shadow of its former self...and smells like caramel syrup and plastic Barbie legs. But I've found a new favorite scent at Kohl's, of all places, and I want my house to smell like Sunday Morning Pancakes all the time. It's a delicious and savory scent that doesn't smell like saccharine diabetes (but does make me want pancakes all the time).

Happy Friday!
