Today is Friday.  You know what's up.  Happy weekend!

$1 Hat Rack
(This should have been on last week's FF, but it's so good at storing things I forgot it was there!) I dislike things being out of place as much as the next guy, but I hate when things don't have a place at all.  Like my husband's hats!  As I am not a hat-wearer, I had no idea how to keep hats from appearing in every corner of the house.  Whenever I picked them up, I ended up with a stack of ten or so on the dresser.  There had to be a better way!  So with a hanger and $1 worth of shower curtain rings, this happened (thanks to the internet).  And Stephen actually keeps up with it! I just hung it in an awkward corner of the closet... which gave the space a purpose.  A purposeful place for hats.  Yay.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing (click for link)
I make this when I want peace and quiet during mealtime, because Stephen and I both shut up so we can cram as much of this into our mouths as possible.  It's almost like an unspoken game of chubby bunny.  We literally take bites before we're done chewing the ones already in our mouths.  It's probably disgusting, to watch us devour this... but we're too focused on our plates to know for sure.

I make this so frequently, I keep all the ingredients on hand.  It's an easy weeknight meal or a nice late lunch on the weekends.  I don't stick to the recipe exactly... I change the type of apple, spinach vs romaine, nuts or no nuts, swiss or feta, etc.  The one constant is the amazing dressing (but half the poppyseeds for sure).  I've never been disappointed.  Go ahead - treat yo'self!

PS - yes I know it says "Winter" in the title.  But who eats a cold salad in the winter?

iPhone 5s
iPhone 5sI've never cared about having the latest technology. My previous phone was my dad's old Samsung Galaxy S (before that it was a flip phone!). I used my dad's old smart phone for about a year before it started glitching on me. It was also not compatible with a few key updates--the web browser was still called 'browser'.

That Samsung Galaxy S treated me right during our time together--I just needed something with a little more processing power. And a phone I didn't have to reset once a week by removing the battery. I was planning to get another android phone, but when I saw the gold iPhone and it was all over. It matches my favorite pen, which was, weirdly, a very important selling point for me.

I've been feeling very spoiled with how much of a smooth operator this phone is--it takes great photos, slo-mo video, and plays videos without a lag. I can watch videos on my phone now! I've also discovered this great new app! Candy crush! ;) Maybe you've heard of it?

Spigen NeoHybrid Case for iPhone 5s
spigen neohybrid case review
Already covered in something, of course. At least it wipes clean!
Obviously, after dropping all that cash on a new phone, I had to get a case to keep it safe! I wanted to get case that was protective, looked nice, and didn't add a lot of bulk. That's a tall order... but I found my answer in Spigen's NeoHybrid.

The NeoHybrid is a two piece case. It has a silicone layer that fits snugly around the entire back and over the sides. The second piece is a plastic edging that comes in a few colors. I picked the gold one to match my phone.

The silicon layer makes the NeoHybrid nice and grippy and it even fits easily in my tech wallet. So far, it works like a charm (but I haven't had a major mishap yet)!

Happy Friday!
