Friday Favorites 3/7/14

It's favorites time again! Here are some random things we've been loving this week.

Emma's Favorites
Can the weary get a little rest around here?  Please?  As I'm sure you are, I am glaaad it's almost the weekend.  My relaxation ritual is usually some combination of hot tea, a hot bath, candles, and these two favorites (I'm enjoying them both right this moment!).

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy  "Sleep" Lavender Chamomile Collection
I thought I grew out of Bath & Body Works after middle school, but I've recently ventured back in to explore their glitter roll-on make-up more mature items.  I snatched up the body lotion as a Christmas present to myself - putting it on is like a little treat before going to bed.  I will admit, the lotion isn't very moisturizing.  It's almost just like a canvas for the scent.  When I make my next purchase, maybe I'll get the pillow mist, or the body cream... or just all of it.  Because I love it.

Sunbeam Electric Blanket
I've enjoyed the past few weeks of 70 degree weather, but I'm still using my electric blanket, because I'm addicted.  It has separate controls for each side (Stephen hasn't turned his on in, oh, 3 months or so). The display is dimly lit, so at night it's just enough light to see the setting you have it set to, but not light enough to illuminate anything in your bedroom.   And it's just so soft.  And wonderfully warm!

I bought this at Bed Bath & Beyond but can't find it on their website, so here is a link to Amazon.  The good thing about buying at BBB is the 20% off coupons they send out every month, so be on the lookout!

Diana's Favorites

Vintage Norwegian Modernist/Brutalist Pendant
brutalist pendant

If this looks like a hunk of melted metal on a chain, that's because it is. I've recently become a fan of Scandinavian modernist/brutalist jewelry, so I've been scouring eBay for vintage pieces.

This bronze necklace is my most recent acquisition. I like that this is a very sturdy, handmade piece. Plus it's abstract art you can wear!

Bernat Mosaic Yarn
bernat mosaic yarnI picked up this yarn again after knitting with it several times before. I've actually used it for a surprising amount of projects. I was originally drawn to the long colorways--and not all of them are as saccharine as the pastel rainbow to the right.

It's also soft and doesn't have that plastic sheen most acrylics tend to. Mosaic is available at big box craft stores, but feels higher quality than most cheap acrylics. I'm a fan!

Happy Friday!
