Emma's Favorites
Locktite Power Grab
This might be a little premature to call it a "favorite."  The guy at Lowe's talked me out of Liquid Nails Extreme Heavy Duty and into this.  Although I've had no problem with Liquid Nails, I love trying new things and so far this has held up better than I expected.  I used it to adhere metal channel to semi-dusty concrete (for door jambs since we're installing laminate - doesn't it look great in these pictures?) in high traffic areas and let me tell you... they are STUCK.  I'm glad I haven't installed all the door jambs, which was my plan, because if I needed to move them for some reason, it would be a big pain to chip out!  Compared to Liquid Nails this is a little more viscous and difficult to apply, but you use less of it.  It's pretty comparable in price ( $4.57 at Lowe's).  Since I've used these adhesives in very different applications, I can't say which one is better for sure, but as far as laminate goes, I'm told this is what all the pros use.  And so far, I can see why.  Joining two nonporous surfaces has never been so easy!

The jury is still out on this new, heavy duty caulk gun though ($14 at Lowe's).

Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop
Move over, Swiffer!  This Rubbermaid Reveal spray mop is so, so much less harmful to the environment - which makes it so, so much more desirable to me.  I don't actually have one yet, but I came up with this idea last week only to find it already exists.   Thanks to my new floors, I am now discovering that desert + wind + laminate flooring = lots of visible dust = lots of mopping.  But not with disposable pads - just throw the microfiber cloth from the Reveal in the wash instead!  No more buying special Swiffer spray - make your own in this refillable bottle!  (My preference is vinegar and water.) You aren't supposed to get laminate very wet.  That meant dusting... on my hands and knees.  But no more!  Just a dry cloth at the end of a stick.. Perfect.  Thank you, Rubbermaid, for making our lives convenient keeping the environment in mind.  Retails for $16 on Amazon.

Diana's Favorites
Frozen Chai
Espresso will always be my first love, but sometimes I want sometimes a little lighter and less toxic. I normally just go for equal parts Oregon Chai (liquid, not powder), vanilla flavored almond milk, and a couple of ice cubes, but, recently, I've been hankering for a completely blended frozen treat.

I'm the worst at using a blender. The top half of my drink always turns to water and the bottom half is always full of hunks of ice. That's why I've been hitting up the local coffee shops for my current vice. You know I love DIY, but sometimes food just tastes better when someone else makes it for you... just looking at this picture makes me want to go get one.

Bitter Ruin's Waves Album
Ben Richards and Georgia Train, the duo making up Bitter Ruin, released their sophomore album this past Monday. I've been listening to their gradual single releases on Youtube, waiting in anticipation for their album to drop.

If you like a little melodic and unexpected weirdness in your music, give them a listen. Girl's got a voice and fella's got a flair for guitar.

Check out their first single from Waves here!

Happy Friday!
