Emma's Favorites
Hey guys, I'm out of town this week celebrating a wedding!  Hope you all have a great Memorial Day Weekend and I will see you back here Monday.

Diana's Favorites
Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood
I've already read this book once before. If pressed, I'd say it's in my top three favorite books, even though picking your favorite book is like choosing your favorite child. I love Atwood's voice in all of her novels--her prose is lovely and poetic. I've always been in awe of her use of figurative language. It's so embedded in her novels and creates such beautiful images that I find myself holding my breath at each line.

There's something about Cat's Eye in particular that seems like each sentence was lovingly crafted. The novel is, essentially, about the experiences of a girl growing up in Toronto, Canada, and her reflections on her childhood when she becomes an adult. But it's so much more than that. It's an exploration of how childhood experiences and fears can morph and grow and shape someone long after they become a functioning adult with a successful career and loving family.

Reading this book, I know Atwood knows me.

Revlon Lip Butters
And now for some frivolity... I'm a little late to the party on this one. These Revlon lipsticks were really popular last year... or maybe even the year before. The Revlon Lip Butters are so popular because their formula is creamier than a regular lipstick--and they don't have to be applied precisely to look nice.

My roommate gave me these when she was cleaning out her makeup stash. Lucky me! (Thanks Vanessa!) She said they dry out her lips, but I haven't had a problem with that yet... probably because I lick my lips a lot (like a child). Because of my horrible habits, the lipstick doesn't last very long, but still wears off evenly. Otherwise I'd have that nasty lipstick ring around my mouth that makes me look like I've just eaten a bowl of spaghetti or had a glass of Kool-aid. My favorite color (and most of the Internets') is Peach Parfait--perfect for summer!

Happy Friday!
