Blue Hawk Laminate Installation Kit
Hands down, best $18 I've ever spent.  EVER.  It's the Blue Hawk Laminate Installation Kit!  I literally cannot imagine installing the floors without this kit.  The only place my imagination leads me is into tears, knowing just how much more frustrated I would have been.  Someone pass me a tissue.

The kit comes with a pull bar (pictured), tapping block, and some spacers, but we definitely used the pull bar the most... it endured so much abuse, we had to tap it back into shape a few times!  The tapping block is pretty much just a lighter duty pull bar, so at the very least, invest in a $10 pull bar.  We put a cloth under the pull bar so we wouldn't risk scratching up the floor with the bar or some misguided its with a mallet.  I'm serious about this this guys!  Don't attempt laminate without this!

Man vs. Pin
I like a lot of things on the Internet, but Man vs. Pin is a marriage of two of my favorites--Youtube and Pinterest. Rob from Threadbanger, a DIY channel on Youtube, tries out (and normally calls BS) on those craft pins that seem too good to be true. You know, pins like turning bottles into glasses or making bowls out of sand in just five easy steps.

I love the concept of this series--this guy figures out what pins are worth trying and which ones just won't work without a special skill set or tools. He's actually fairly scientific with his approach to these crafts. He documents each step he follows and even tries out multiple crafting methods in order to try to achieve that allegedly effortless Pinterest craft magic. Plus he's hilarious! Check out Man vs. Pin and the rest of the the Threadbanger shows here.

Flea Markets
As evidenced by my posts, I love a good thrift find. Now that it's warm out, it's flea market and yard sale season. One flea market I'm really looking forward to is Fleaville, Charlottesville, VA's outdoor flea market for artists and vintage collectors to sell their creations and finds. Why, you may ask? Because I'm participating as a vendor! Shameless plug!

So I get to research what it takes for me to have a great craft fair experience. Questions like: How much change do I need to keep on me? Do I need to collect sales tax? Will anyone help me set up my booth? (But really... that tent is heavy...). The next event is June 28 at the IX Project, so stop on by!

Happy Friday!
